NASSAU, BAHAMAS — On January 11, 2026, His Eminence Abp. Elpidophoros of America visited the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Community in the Bahamas to celebrate the afterfeast of Theophany. The visit followed his annual Archiepiscopal celebrations in Tarpon Springs, Florida, marking 120 consecutive years of Theophany observances.

On January 10, the Archbishop met with young adults, new Orthodox faithful, and catechumens to discuss faith formation and the impact of Archdiocesan educational programs. The Archons of the Order of Saint Andrew hosted a celebratory dinner, organized by the Tsavoussis family, honoring Abp. Elpidophoros and his delegation.

During the Divine Liturgy, the Archbishop delivered an inspiring homily emphasizing the sanctification of Holy Water as a blessing for humanity and the natural world. Young readers were elevated, and Archon Pericles Alexander Maillis was invested for his contributions as a lawyer, philanthropist, environmentalist, and faithful supporter of the Church. The visit concluded with the traditional blessing of the waters at Adelaide, reinforcing faith, community, and stewardship of God’s creation.

Previously, the UOJ reported that Abp. Elpidophoros celebrated the New Year liturgy with a call to "rise and build."
