COLLEGE STATION, TX — The Greek Orthodox Mission Church of Bryan–College Station officially opened its doors on January 17–18, 2026, marking a significant milestone for Orthodox Christians in the region. His Eminence Metr. Constantine of Denver presided over the inaugural services, joined by Rev. Fr. Luke Palumbis and Rev. Deacon John Rigas, with the support of dedicated volunteers and local faithful.

The new mission, established near the campus of Texas A&M University, is the result of years of prayerful effort and responds directly to requests from students, faculty, and residents seeking an Orthodox spiritual home. Leadership and benefactors from St. Basil the Great Greek Orthodox Church in Houston played a key role in bringing the project to fruition, and clergy from St. Basil and the wider region will continue coordinating the mission’s liturgical life.

Church leaders expressed gratitude to all who labored for the mission’s establishment, offering prayers that the parish will flourish and serve as a lasting witness of faith in the Bryan–College Station community.

Previously, the UOJ reported that Metr. Saba was currently touring Texas parishes.
