ALHAMBRA, CA — Maintaining Church unity and safeguarding the holy priesthood were central themes of keynote addresses delivered by Bp. Anthony at the annual Clergy Seminar of the Diocese of Los Angeles and the West.

More than 70 priests and deacons gathered February 10–12, 2026, at Sacred Heart Retreat House for prayer, fellowship, and pastoral discussion. The seminar provided an opportunity for the hierarch and clergy to deepen relationships formed during his 17 months of service in the diocese.

“Church unity is not created, but it is bestowed and expressed in the body of Christ,” Bp. Anthony said, encouraging clergy not to fear conflict when it is approached with prayer and discernment.

In a separate session, he urged priests to prioritize their families, noting the quiet sacrifices made by clergy wives and children. The gathering concluded with renewed commitment to faithful ministry rooted in unity, prayer, and pastoral responsibility.

Previously, the UOJ reported that Fr. Peter Kavanaugh urged Orthodox Christians to move toward lived intimacy with God.
