COCONUT CREEK, FL — Metr. Nicholas of Eastern America & New York visited the under-construction Resurrection Cathedral on February 7–8, offering prayers and encouragement as the parish advances its building project.

Upon arrival, the Metropolitan served a moleben before the Beginning of Any Good Work, sprinkling the church site and parish buildings with holy water. That evening, he officiated the All-Night Vigil at St. Luke the Evangelist Chapel at Paideia Classical Academy, where the community currently gathers for worship.

On Sunday, dedicated to the Prodigal Son and the New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia, Metr. Nicholas celebrated Divine Liturgy under the prayerful protection of the wonderworking Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God. The cathedral choir sang in Church Slavonic and English as nearly all present received Holy Communion.

Following the service and parish assembly, which approved the 2026 budget and reviewed construction progress, the faithful continued fellowship at a festive meal.

Previously, the UOJ reported that the Kursk Root Icon highlighted the 75th anniversary of Holy Epiphany Church.
