JORDANVILLE, NY — On Monday, February 16, newly consecrated Bp. Michael of Boston, vicar of the Eastern American Diocese, celebrated his first Divine Liturgy as a hierarch at Holy Trinity Monastery.
Concelebrating with His Grace were monastery and diocesan clergy, including the monastery’s abbot, Bp. Luke of Syracuse. The services were marked by prayerful solemnity as the faithful gathered for the bishop’s first liturgical celebration in his new ministry.
The seminary choir sang under the direction of Dn. Nicholas Kotar. At the conclusion of the Liturgy, the archdeacon intoned the Polychronion for Metr. Nicholas of Eastern America & New York, who was celebrating his namesday on the feast of St. Nicholas of Japan.
Previously, the UOJ reported that Archimandrite Michael was nominated Bishop of Boston in Jordanville.
