PERM, RUSSIA — The solemn glorification of the newly discovered relics of Hieromartyr Benjamin Lukanin took place February 14–15, coinciding with the feast of the Meeting of the Lord and the Synaxis of All Saints of the Perm Metropolia. The celebrations were centered at Holy Trinity Cathedral and drew hierarchs, clergy, and faithful from across the region.

St. Benjamin suffered martyrdom during the Red Terror in 1918 near Shabunichi and was canonized among the New Martyrs and Confessors of the Russian Church by the Jubilee Bishops’ Council in 2000. His relics were uncovered on August 5, 2025, at Holy Trinity Church in the village of Polazna. On December 29, Patr. Kirill blessed their opening for veneration.

Metr. Methodiy of Perm presided at the All-Night Vigil and Divine Liturgy, concelebrated by Bps. Peter of Kudymkar and Gabriel of Solikamsk. The relics were processed into the cathedral, the saint’s life was read, and a moleben was served. Relatives of the hieromartyr attended the solemn services.

Previously, the UOJ reported that the OCA celebrated the glorification of St. Olga of Alaska.
