CONSTANTINOPLE — The Ecumenical Patriarchate announced the new composition of its Holy Synod for the six-month period from March 1 to August 31, 2026. The reconstitution follows the regular rotation of hierarchs under the presidency of His Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.

The Synod will include Metr. Emmanuel, Chalcedon; Metr. Ambrosios, Karpathos and Kasos; Metr. Apostolos, Miletus; Metr. Joseph, Proikonnisos; Metr. Melito, Philadelphia; Metr. Athanasios, Cologne; Metr. Theoliptos, Iconium; Metr. Joseph, Buenos Aires; Metr. Cleopas, Sweden and all of Scandinavia; Metr. Kyrillos, Imbros and Tenedos; Metr. Constantine, Denver; and Metr. Gregory, Anchor.

The restructuring occurs every six months. Metr. Sevastianos of Atlanta recently completed his term, while Metr. Constantine of Denver joins the Synod for the first time since his election in 2024, marking a new chapter in the council’s composition.

Previously, the UOJ reported that the Ecumenical Patriarch's message for Lent was joy and asceticism.
