BOSTON, MA — Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology has launched a new Certificate of Completion in Orthodox Theology in Spanish to serve native Spanish-speaking clergy across the Americas.
The program was developed in conjunction with the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America and the Holy Eparchial Synod under the spiritual leadership of Abp. Elpidophoros. The initiative aims to address the growing need for theological education among Spanish-speaking clergy, particularly in the Metropolises of Mexico and Buenos Aires.
The certificate program consists of eight courses taught entirely in Spanish and organized around the four pillars of Orthodox theology: historical, biblical, doctrinal, and practical. Delivered online through asynchronous instruction, the courses are designed to allow clergy, catechists, and lay leaders to pursue theological formation while remaining active in their local ministries.
Church leaders say the initiative reflects the expanding presence of Orthodoxy among Spanish-speaking communities and seeks to make theological education more accessible throughout the Americas.
Previously, the UOJ reported that students completed a certificate program in prison ministry.
