OCF Announces Georgia Pilgrimage Led by Bp. Gerasim

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — Orthodox Christian Fellowship (OCF) has announced that Bp. Gerasim of Fort Worth will lead a Real Break pilgrimage to Georgia from May 19–29. The trip is open to college students and young adults between the ages of 18 and 25 seeking a spiritually focused travel experience.
Over the course of 10 days, participants will travel through Tbilisi and visit monasteries and sacred sites across eastern and western regions of the country. Planned stops include the revered Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, traditionally believed to house the Holy Robe of Christ, as well as locations connected with St. Nina. Pilgrims will also pray in ancient monasteries where monastic life has continued for more than a thousand years.
Bp. Gerasim, a spiritual son of Fr. Seraphim Rose, spent more than three decades in monastic life and served as abbot of St. Herman of Alaska Monastery. Consecrated a bishop in 2021, he now serves as an auxiliary hierarch in the Orthodox Church in America and has maintained connections with Georgian clergy and monastics since the early 1990s.
Each day of the pilgrimage will include Church services, group discussions, and exploration of historic Christian sites. The journey is part of OCF’s Real Break program, which offers college students an alternative to traditional spring break through prayer, service, and fellowship.
Previously, the UOJ reported that an icon of St Gabriel of Georgia containing a relic was brought to Uzhhorod from Georgia.
