CONTOOCOOK, NH — Priests and deacons from the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Boston convened March 10–11 at the scenic St. Methodios Faith and Heritage Center in Contoocook, New Hampshire, for their annual Clergy Lenten Retreat.
Under the guidance of Metr. Methodios, the spiritual father of the Metropolis, clergy engaged in prayer, fellowship, and reflection amid the sacred season of Great Lent. This year's theme, “Ministering to Converts,” featured insightful presentations by guest speakers Bp. John of Worchester and Fr. Alkiviadis C. Calivas.
According to a post on the Metropolis Facebook page, discussions focused on the pastoral joys and challenges of welcoming newcomers into Orthodox faith, drawing on shared experiences to enrich parish ministry across New England.
The retreat fostered deep fraternal bonds among clergy, renewing their dedication to serving Christ and their communities. Participants expressed heartfelt thanks to the center's staff for exceptional hospitality, which enhanced the spiritually uplifting atmosphere.
As clergy departed, they carried renewed vigor and unity in their mission to nurture Orthodox life throughout the region.
