NEW YORK — His Eminence Metr. Saba has begun an extensive nine-day pastoral journey across the northeastern United States, visiting 11 parishes in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut during Holy Week, culminating at his cathedral in Brooklyn for Great and Holy Pascha.

The journey opened on Lazarus Saturday at St. Mary Church, where Metr. Saba emphasized the joy of the Resurrection and the Christian calling to live a life of faith, not merely profess it. On Palm Sunday, he celebrated at St. Philip Church, highlighting that true joy is a divine gift rooted in the presence of Christ, even amid suffering. The parish also witnessed the ordination of Deacon John Gamble.

Continuing to St. James Church on Holy Monday, the Metropolitan urged the faithful to move beyond outward religious observance and instead embody faith through love, fasting, and forgiveness. Each stop has included worship, preaching, and fellowship with parish communities.

Previously, the UOJ reported that Metr. Saba led a pilgrimage to St. Dumitru Monastery.
