Bp. Saba Congratulates Patr. Shio on Election

TBILISI — Bp. Saba of the Georgian Diocese in North America issued a message of congratulations to Patr. Shio following his election as the new Patriarch of the Georgian Orthodox Church, calling the moment a historic responsibility requiring spiritual strength, wisdom, and love.

In his statement, Bp. Saba emphasized the importance of unity, peace, and mutual respect within the Church, noting that he participated in the ecclesiastical gathering that confirmed Patr. Shio’s election. He expressed hope that the new Patriarch’s ministry would focus on reconciliation, strengthening love among the faithful, and building up the life of the Church.

The hierarch also prayed that Patr. Shio would become a merciful and unifying spiritual father for all of Georgia. "May the Lord grant you the strength, wisdom, and grace to carry out this great ministry with dignity," His Grace concluded.

Previously, the UOJ reported that Metr. Tikhon congratulated newly elected Patr. Shio of Georgia.
