CHICAGO — The Orthodox Pastoral School of the Diocese of Chicago & Mid-America has announced its Summer 2026 course offerings, providing clergy, seminarians, and interested Orthodox Christians with opportunities for theological education through its online English-language program.

Offered with the blessing of Bp. Spyridon, the summer semester will run from June 15 through August 8, with some courses extending through August 22. Applications for admission are due June 8. While the courses are designed primarily for students enrolled in the school's diploma programs, members of the general public may also register and participate without applying to the full degree track.

This year’s curriculum includes Introductory Church Slavonic, Intermediate and Advanced Church Slavonic, Parish Management and Operations, New Testament Greek, New Testament Latin, Survey of Mental Illness for the Pastor, and a Thesis Writing Workshop. Several courses fulfill requirements for students pursuing concentrations in Pastoral Theology or Orthodox Studies. Tuition for most courses is set at $300, with classes carrying three academic credits where applicable.

The program continues its mission of making Orthodox theological education accessible to students regardless of location. Additional information about registration, course descriptions, and admissions is available through the school's website, while inquiries may be directed to Dean Fr. Gregory Joyce at fr.gregory.joyce@orthodoxtheologicalschool.org.

Previously, the UOJ reported that Holy Cross launched a course on Orthodox theology of marriage.
