It’s easier to bear feat of the Cross Procession together – Metropolitan Sergiy (Gensitskiy) (VIDEO)

The aim of the Cross Procession is to perform penance and the pilgrims take on such feat. It was reported by Metropolitan of Ternopil and Kremenets Sergiy to the UOJ correspondent.

“The Cross Procession is aimed at penance and this is what makes our feat. There is a collective feat which is easier to be shared by many than to be borne alone in a cell,” Metropolitan Sergiy said.

“Certainly, we ask for forgiveness for all our weaknesses – we ask for God’s grace and blessing, for the Lord and His Holy Mother to help us bear our cross, defend Orthodoxy, help us live in love and peace. Nothing is able to give so much grace as the Cross Procession,” the Metropolitan concluded.

Within 20 days the pilgrims will cover a 450-km distance and visit over 50 churches of Ukraine. It will be reminded that on July 3rd All-Ukrainian Cross Procession of peace, love, and prayer for Ukraine started form the Holy Dormition Sviatogorsk Lavra, while on July 9th a devotional procession from the Holy Dormition Pochaev Lavra left from the opposite direction for both processions to meet in Kiev on July 27th.
