Bishop Kliment (Vecheria): Law Enforcement has no Claims for the Cross Procession - 2016
The Ukrainian Orthodox Church is ready to establish cooperation with the law enforcement authorities in maintaining public order during the All-Ukrainian Cross Procession. It is reported by Chairman of the UOC Awareness-Raising Department bishop Kliment on 15 July at the press conference held in the Holy Dormition Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, as the UOJ correspondent reports.
“The UOC during the Cross Procession is interested, like anyone, in keeping public order. Therefore, we are ready to cooperate with the law enforcement in this regard. I haven’t got a single claim put forward by the Security Service of Ukraine or other security agencies with regard to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church,” he said.
The bishop added that among the Cross Procession participants nobody has seen the people with St. George ribbons. “These facts were commented on by the MIA and SBU officials. They said they’ve been monitoring the situation tightly. Zoran Shkiryak said he is convinced there are also MIA employees among the Procession believers. They have not spotted any “stool pigeons” and ribbons,” noted the vladiko.
“I haven’t seen a single time my believers to wear such ribbons. This provocation was intentionally framed up by one of the notorious FB provocators and not confirmed anywhere else,” he underscored.
