Primate of UOC: Cross Procession helps to understand the aim of life on earth

The Cross Processions reminds of the ultimate goal of human life on earth and helps to understand what salvation is, said His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufriy of Kiev and All Ukraine for the UOJ Telemarathon

"The Cross Procession itself is the image of man’s way to the Kingdom of Heaven. The primary aim of any cross procession is to get to a monastery or a church, which is the image of Eternity, the Eternal Kingdom. And the Cross Procession reminds us of earth's way of every person. A person must walk their own cross way, and come to their goal – the Kingdom of Heaven," said His Beatitude.

"Participants of the Cross procession pray hard all the way down there – that’s a feat that a man takes. You can go by car, but it won’t be a cross procession. The man himself must cover this way due to his abilities and efforts. Then you will feel what earthly life is and what salvation is," he stressed.

Recall, the UOJ launched a weekly telemarathon devoted to the All-Ukrainian Cross Procession – 2016.
