UOC-KP denies requesting psychics but punishes the priest

Priest of the UOC-KP Alexander Barey suspended from ministry for"the interaction with psychics," says the statement of the Cherkassy eparchy of the UOC-KP in connection with the broadcast of the STB program about psychics with the participation of the representatives of the Protection(Pokrovsky) parish of Olkhovaya village.

"Neither the Archbishop of the Cherkassy eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-KP Metropolitan John nor the rector of the Holy Protection parish of Olkhovaya Alexander Barey, nor clerics of the Cherkassy eparchy requested, in verbal or written form, the STB editor and psychics to carry out any investigation. The official website of STB displays false information," reads the statement of the press service of the Cherkassy eparchy.

However, "upon interaction with psychics, Archpriest Alexander Barey was imposed church penalty – he was relieved of his duties as the rector of the Holy Protection parish of Olkhovaya and suspended from ministry," says the press-service.

As reported earlier, KP priest calls upon psychics for the attack on the UOC.
