Hierarchs of Local Churches express support for the UOC (VIDEO)

The UOC is the only canonical Church recognized and supported by the World Orthodoxy. This was said at a press briefing held on July 23 by the bishops of the Local Orthodox Churches who came to Kiev to honor the memory of St. Anthony of the Caves.

"We came here to testify to Holy Orthodoxy. We testify everywhere that the only Church that is canonical, true, and also holy is the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, headed by the Metropolitan Onufry of Kiev and All Ukraine.

I would like to encourage all of us to intensify our prayers for the unity of Holy Orthodoxy, that the Lord would give much strength, spiritual support and grace to His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry and all the bishops to stand in the canonicity of Holy Orthodoxy, followed by the grace of the Holy spirit, without which there is no Church," said Archbishop George of Wroclaw and Szczecin (Poland).

"We understand that hard times have come for Ukraine. We pray for Ukraine’s prosperity and for the union of the people. The Orthodox autonomous Church of Ukraine under the headship of Metropolitan Onuphry is a symbol of the people’s unity," said Met. Timothy of Vostra (Jerusalem).

The briefing was attended by Met. Anthony of Boryspil and Brovary, Met. Timothy of Vostra (Jerusalem Orthodox Church), Metropolitan Nahum of Ruse (Bulgarian Orthodox Church), Met. Isaiah of Tamassos and Orinis (Cyprus Orthodox Church), Metropolitan George of Kitros, Katerini, and Platamon (Greek Orthodox Church), Archbishop George of Wroclaw and Szczecin (Polish Orthodox Church).
