UOC faithful pray round-the-clock at the sealed temple in Ptichya
At the arrested Holy Assumption church of the UOC, the faithful of the canonical Church prayed on their knees
According to the source of the UOJ, the policemen at first allowed to put up a tent to perform the moleben prayer, but then told to remove it “in order not to provoke an inter-faith conflict.”
Believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church pray outdoors and keep vigil at the temple around the clock. The police are also on duty at the church 24 hours a day.
Attempts by supporters of the Kyiv Patriarchate to grab the Holy Assumption church from the UOC community have lasted for more than three years. All these years the believers of the canonical Church have been forced to perform the liturgy in the garage.
On April 2, Dubno district court cancelled the arrest imposed on the Holy Assumption temple of the UOC of the village of Ptichya. On the same day, late at night, the church was seized by people in camouflage and balaclavas. On April 3, the police sealed the doors of the Holy Assumption church of the UOC, from which the arrest had been lifted the day before. The community was presented with the Rovno’s court decision on this matter.
