Ivano-Frankovsk schoolchildren and medical workers driven to UGCC congress

Mayor of Ivano-Frankovsk Ruslan Martsinkiv

According to the order by mayor of Ivano-Frankovsk Ruslan Martsinkiv, graduate pupils and medical workers are to attend «the Eucharistic congress of students "You – the light of the world"», reports the local portal "Zaborona".

"In accordance with the Cooperation Agreement of January 10, 2003 between the executive committee of the Ivano-Frankovsk City Council and the Ivano-Frankovsk archdiocese of the UGCC ... on May 5, 2018, the Department of Education and Science of the Ivano-Frankovsk City Council (I. Smal) should organize the participation of 11th-form pupils in the ХХІІІ Eucharistic congress of students "You – the light of the world", said the order published on the official website of the city.

In addition, it was ordered that the Health Department provide medical care for the event, and medical personnel arrive at the designated meeting place by 9 am. The Department of Education was obliged to provide transport support for doctors, and the police of the city – to ensure the safety of traffic to the village of Pogonia, where the celebration is to take place.

We recall that Ruslan Martsinkiv, a Svoboda member, became the head of the city in 2015. It is not the first time he has become the author of scandalous statements and initiatives. For example, in August 2017, Martsinkiv said that VO "Svoboda" would ban the UOC.

As reported by the UOJ, in September 2017 the NPU named after N. P. Drahomanov sent students during the educational process to St. Vladimir’s Cathedral for the prayer service of the Kiev Patriarchate.
