Ovruch eparchy refutes the fake of discussing Tomos with schismatics

Metropolitan Vissarion of Ovruch and Korosten performs a prayer service on the Day of the City

The web is spawning fake information that Metropolitan Vissarion discussed the Tomos issue with the representatives of the Kiev Patriarchate and expressed a desire to join the SLC. This was announced on the official website of the Ovruch eparchy by Metropolitan Vissarion of Ovruch and Korosten.

“Mayor of Ovruch I. Korud asked me to serve a prayer service for the citizens on the occasion of celebrating the City Day on September 29 near the monument of St. Macarius,” said Metropolitan Vissarion. “On this day, with the priests of my deanery, I served the Holy Liturgy in the Transfiguration Cathedral, then we came to the monument of St. Macarius, where we began to pray. At that point there came out and approached us arbitrarily dissenter “bishop Paisy” with his three assistants and started taking pictures from their side. In their address I said a diatribe: “Why did you, schismatics, come to us? Orthodox rules do not allow us to pray together. You are not recognized by Patriarch of Jerusalem, Theophilos, nor by any of the Primates of the Local Churches.”

According to Vladyka Vissarion, on the next day, a fake Facebook page featured another lie under his name that he had allegedly discussed the issue of Tomos with the above schismatic “bishop” and expressed his desire to join the Tomos campaigners.

Earlier the Ovruch eparchy reported a fake denying the decision of the Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church.
