47% Kharkov region residents disapprove of Poroshenko’s church initiatives

Most respondents do not approve of Petro Poroshenko’s initiative to create the SLC

Dmitry Dmitruk, director of the Social Monitoring Centre, spoke about the results of the survey on Petro Poroshenko’s initiative to create an autocephalous Local Church, reports the “1Kozak” TV channel.

According to him, the respondents are not unanimous on the church issue.

The sociologist explained that the most common reaction to the question: “Do you approve or disapprove of Petro Poroshenko’s initiative to create an independent Local Ukrainian Orthodox Church?” the answer was “disapprove” – 46.6% of respondents.

23.7% answered that they approve of the initiative and almost a third of the respondents (29.7%) were undecided.”

As the UOJ reported, a previous study by the European Institute of Social Communications showed that 48.8% of Odessa citizens are not interested in granting autocephaly to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church
