Presidency of the Seminary will now be held ex officio by the Metropolitan (primate) of the Orthodox Church in America.

YONKERS, NY — St. Vladimir's Seminary has announced major revisions to its bylaws which will change the Seminary's leadership structure.

Presidency of the Seminary will now be held ex officio by the Metropolitan (primate) of the Orthodox Church in America.

Ionut-Alexandru Tudorie, who served as president before the revision, has been chosen to serve in the office of Dean, which has also been restructured. A similar model is in place at St. Tikhon's Seminary.

Tudorie’s appointment as president was first announced on February 26, 2025. However, it did not take effect until July 1. His first term was supposed to last for five years. Tudorie had assumed the role of interim president on July 1, 2024, following the resignation of Fr. Chad Hatfield.

Tudorie assumed the office of Dean in October of 2018 and continued to hold during his brief tenure as president.

The Presidency of St. Vladimir's Seminary will now be assumed ex-officio by Metropolitan Tikhon (Mollard).

SVOTS has seen dramatic turnover in its senior leadership since Hatfield's departure.

The President, Executive Chair, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operations Officer, and Chief Advancement Officer have all been replaced in the last two years.
