Phanar hierarch arrives in Kiev to prepare for unification council

Metropolitan Emmanuel of France

“Metropolitan Emmanuel of Gaul has arrived in Kiev. Now they’re discussing the details of holding the council, which it’s expected he will lead,” an informed source told Ukrainian National News (UNN).

Also, the news agency reported that a possible date for the unification сouncil was being discussed, which, previously, was determined on November 22.

Earlier, Patriarch Bartholomew said that the Patriarchate of Constantinople would solve church problems that have tormented Ukrainians for centuries. On November 13, the Holy Synod of the UOC recognized the decisions of the Constantinople Patriarchate of October 11, 2018, regarding the Ukrainian church question to be invalid and such that they have no canonical force.
