President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko
President Petro Poroshenko will meet with Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem, as announced on the Administration of President’s website.
The meeting will be held during the visit of Petro Poroshenko to Israel, scheduled for January 20-21.
The Presidential Administration reports that the President will hold talks with Israeli President Reuven Rivlin, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Knesset (Israeli Parliament) Speaker Yuli Edelshtein, says the announcement.
The Jerusalem Church is reported to be under serious pressure to accept the schismatics from the OCU and concelebrate with them.
We recall that Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem said earlier that the Jerusalem Church constantly offers prayers for Ukraine and His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry, whom he considers "the most suitable person for the difficult situation in which the Ukrainian people are today."
