Radicals from S14 hold an action near the UOC Cathedral in Zhitomir

S14 members put up leaflets on the Transfiguration Cathedral

On January 27 in Zhitomir, representatives of the radical organization S14 arranged a rally at the Transfiguration Cathedral of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. They pasted flyers and conducted “educational conversations” with believers of the UOC, reports the organization’s Facebook page.

“Churches that serve the aggressor country and consecrate enemy weapons will be closed,” the radicals wrote in their leaflets.

As the UOJ reported, two weeks earlier, activists from the right-wing radical group S14 “reminded” the priests of the UOC that “they don’t have a place in Lvov” by smearing the fence of the cathedral with the appropriate inscriptions.

The head of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU) “metropolitan” Epiphany Dumenko said that now there is peaceful accession of the Ukrainian communities to the OCU and the UOC parishioners will not be subjected to pressure.

Meanwhile, in the regions of Ukraine more and more illegitimate meetings are held, where they sign a document that the religious community that visits the church, allegedly makes the decision to pass to the OCU. In this process, local self-government and radical groups like S14, as a rule, help supporters of the OCU.

Protopriest Gennady Shkil, a cleric of Kherson eparchy, launched a flash mob in response to the false information that temples of the UOC purportedly offer prayers for Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Russian army. With his flash mob he intends to refute these accusations and prove that in the temples of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church only prayer for peace in Ukraine can be heard at all divine services.
