“On behalf of the plentitude of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and on my own behalf, I cordially congratulate you on your election as President of Ukraine,” the message reads. “Your convincing victory in the elections testifies to the great confidence in you from the Ukrainian society. It is also a sign that the priorities of the country’s development, declared by you, coincide with the hopes and aspirations of our people, who wish our Motherland unity, peace and prosperity, as well as eradicating everything that exacerbates discord and hostility inside the Ukrainian state.”

His Beatitude Onufriy expressed confidence that the newly elected President of Ukraine "will act as a guarantor of the observance by state authorities of the Constitution, the principle of non-interference of the state in the affairs of the Church, defined by the Fundamental Law, as well as the rights and freedoms of believers of all denominations."

“You can rely on the unconditional support of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in all matters that will contribute to the establishment and development of the spiritual and moral values of Ukrainian society,” concluded the Primate, wishing the President-elect God’s blessing on his new and responsible way of serving Ukraine and its people.
