St. Tikhon’s Seminary Seeks Church History Professor
The successful candidate will teach graduate courses in ecclesiastical history and Patristics, mentor M.Div. students in research, publish scholarly work, and serve on faculty committees.
SOUTH CANAAN, PA — St. Tikhon’s Orthodox Theological Seminary, the oldest Orthodox seminary in America, has launched a national search for a full-time Professor of Church History / Historical Theology to join its residential faculty in the Pocono Mountains.
The successful candidate will teach graduate courses in ecclesiastical history and Patristics, mentor M.Div. students in research, publish scholarly work, and serve on faculty committees. Applicants must hold a completed Ph.D. or equivalent in Church History (Patristics concentration) or Patristics, be active communicants of the Eastern Orthodox Church, and embrace the seminary’s 87-year mission of forming clergy and lay leaders.
The successful candidate's rank (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor) and salary will reflect experience. The three-year renewable appointment, effective July 1, 2026, includes health and pension benefits.
