Head of Chernovtsy RSA orders to re-register the statutes of UOC to OCU
The Chernovtsy-Bukovina Eparchy of the UOC will hold a round table to discuss a plan for the legal protection of the affected religious communities of the UOC.
The document, in which the head of the Chernovtsy RSA ordered to register in the new version the statutes of the three religious communities of the UOC – in the villages of Berezhnitsa, Kalnovtsy and Staraya Zhadova, was published on April 19, a week after its signing, reports the press service of the Chernovtsy-Bukovina Eparchy of the UOC.
“Today, at the end of the day, the Chernovtsy RSA finally found the strength and published hidden from the public eye order No. 354-p published a week ago. Everything is “fine” in it: ignored are the appeals of the religious community to the RSA, open criminal cases on the fact of the abduction of documents from the religious community, meetings of religious communities, as well as appeals to the Prosecutor's Office...,” noted in the eparchy.
On Monday, April 22, 2019, a round table will be held in the consistory of the Chernovtsy-Bukovina Eparchy, which will be attended by representatives of all religious communities of the UOC affected by the dubious directives of the Acting Chairman of the Chernovtsy RSA M. Pavliuk.
The eparchy notes that they will discuss a joint action plan regarding the legal protection of the right of religious communities to free exercise of the Orthodox faith, as well as appoint a person responsible for preparing a report on the interference of officials to the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights Dunja Mijatović, the UN Special Rapporteur on religion and belief Ahmed Shaheed and the UN Human Rights Council.
As the UOJ reported, earlier the Chernovtsy-Bukovina Eparchy of the UOC has already informed the OSCE Monitoring Mission of the activities of the Chernovtsy RSA authorities on the involuntary reassignment of religious communities to the OCU.
