Epiphany discusses issue of recognition of OCU at US Embassy

The head of the OCU visited the US Embassy in Ukraine, where he discussed the formation of the OCU and challenges related to this process.
On July 3, 2019, Epiphany Dumenko, head of the OCU, met with the US Chargé d'affaires in Ukraine William Taylor, reports the official website of the OCU.
In particular, it is reported that "Metropolitan" Epiphany "congratulated Mr. Taylor on his return to Ukraine, as well as on Independence Day, which is celebrated the next day by the United States of America".
In addition, according to the information of the press service of the OCU, “during a friendly conversation, issues of religious life in Ukraine, the process of the formation of the Local Ukrainian Orthodox Church and its recognition”, as well as “related challenges” were discussed.
It is also reported that Eustraty Zoria and employees of the US Embassy also took part in the meeting.
Earlier, the UOJ wrote that according to Makary Maletich, “The Phanar gave Tomos because it was confident in the support of the United States”.
