On January 20, 2019, the national centre "Ukrainian House" hosted the Forum "In Defence of the Kyiv Patriarchate", at which a statement was issued with a request to restore the state registration of the UOC-KP, reports the website "Censor.net" with reference to "Interfax-Ukraine".
The Forum worded and agreed upon an Appeal of the clergy and believers to the President of Ukraine, the UN, the Council of Europe and the OSCE.
“The Kyiv Patriarchate appeals to the guarantor of the Constitution, the President of Ukraine, with a sincere request – to return to the Kyiv Patriarchy and the UOC of the Kyiv Patriarchate the state registration that it had before January 30, 2019,” the statement said.
Representatives of the UOC-KP recalled that for about six months it has been in litigation with the OCU and the Ministry of Culture. “The Kyiv Patriarchate is in a state of judicial research and decisions. Everyone knows that the courts in Ukraine are corrupt. This cannot be said about each judge, but the overall assessment of the courts is negative,” emphasized officials of the liquidated UOC-KP.
As reported by UOJ, Filaret Denisenko said that as a result of the removal of the UOC-KP from the registration, initiated by the head of the OCU Epiphany and the Ministry of Culture, its accounts were liquidated, and it could not pay utility bills.
