UOC: Phanar’s wrong ecclesiology is a major concern for Orthodoxy

At a meeting held on March 18, 2020 in the Holy Dormition Kiev Caves Lavra, the Holy Synod of UOC called the ecclesiology of the Patriarchate of Constantinople erroneous and emphasized the urgent need to resolve the Ukrainian church issue. This is stated in the key takeaways of the meeting, published on the official page of the UOC on Facebook.

Having listened to the message of the Primate of the UOC, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kiev and All Ukraine, on attending the Synaxis of the Primates and representatives of the Local Orthodox Churches in the capital of Jordan Amman, “The Synod noted that today a major problem for Orthodoxy is the erroneous ecclesiology of the Patriarchate of Constantinople.”

According to the Synod, it resulted, in particular, in the non-canonical actions of the Patriarchate of Constantinople in Ukraine.

The Synod noted that the solution of the Ukrainian church issue is an urgent need for World Orthodoxy.

As the UOJ reported, the Holy Synod of UOC has published an address to the flock in connection with the coronavirus emergency.
