The European Solidarity Party demands to immediately adopt a law banning the activities of the ROC and its subordinate organizations in Ukraine. This is stated in the party's statement on its official website.
The Eurosolidarity party stated that the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC), if it really left the jurisdiction of the Moscow Patriarchate, must prove this by actions: clearly and unequivocally declare the condemnation of Patriarch Kirill and the entire ROC as an accomplice of aggression and genocide of Ukrainians, break with it all relations, in particular, to announce the withdrawal of its bishops from the synod of the ROC and non-applicability of the charter of the ROC to it. In addition, it is necessary to notify the Local Orthodox Churches of the rupture with the Russian Orthodox Church and the intention to regulate its canonical status in dialogue with the Orthodox Church of Ukraine in accordance with the Tomos provided by the Ecumenical Patriarch.
Also, deputies of Poroshenko’s party demand that the canonical Church "resume communion with the Local Churches that have recognized the OCU, recognize the sacraments of the OCU and start a dialogue without preconditions and requirements for understanding and uniting the Ukrainian Orthodox”.
“Otherwise, the UOC will once again confirm that it is affiliated to the MP both canonically and de facto, and hence must inform the society about this, in accordance with the law,” the party emphasized.
The deputies demand from the Verkhovna Rada to adopt a law on ensuring the strengthening of national security in the field of freedom of conscience and the activities of religious organizations (No. 8221 of 11/23/2022).
As the UOJ reported, on December 27, 2022, the Constitutional Court of Ukraine recognized as constitutional an amendment to the Law of Ukraine “On Freedom of Conscience and Religious Organizations”, with the help of which the enemies of the UOC want to rename it.
