The press service of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church has reacted to the OCU's message that Epifaniy will perform Christmas "services" at the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra's Dormition Cathedral, reports the TG channel “KlymenkoTime”.

"This event will be a great disgrace for Ukraine. Unlike other cases with seizures of our churches by supporters of the OCU, in this case this raiding takes place directly at the behest of the highest representatives of power. The Local Churches abroad will be surprised, to put it mildly, by the state of freedom of conscience and the rights to religious belief in our country," the press service of the UOC said.

As reported, on 4 January, the press service of the OCU announced that the head of the OCU, Epifaniy Dumenko, intended to perform a Christmas "service" at the Holy Dormition Cathedral of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. Metropolitan Pavel, the head of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, said that starting from the New Year, UOC believers will not be able to pray in the temples of the Upper Lavra.
