Ex-MP and founder of the Save Old Kyiv movement, Ihor Lutsenko, is calling on the military and those who believe that the Tithe Church (the Desiatynna Church or the Church of the Dormition of the Virgin) should be demolished to come to the court building on January 18 and join the action to support the dismantling of the UOC church. Lutsenko said this on his Facebook page.

"I appeal first of all to the military men, which can be in Kyiv on January 18. As well as all conscious citizens who are concerned. The court on the demolition of the illegally built MAF "monastery" of the ROC on the territory of the National Museum of the History of Ukraine, near the foundation of the Church of the Tithes, will be January 18, 16-30, Bohdan Khmelnytsky street, 44B, Kyiv, Ukraine, 01054 room 18, judge Baranov D. A.," he wrote.

Lutsenko does not hide the purpose of the meeting and proposes to use a convenient moment for the pressure on the court and gather activists to have the same "picture" as in previous rallies demanding the demolition of the Tithe Church.

"What is needed now is to achieve a quick dismantling of the MAF, and you all realise that there may not be a better moment. A photo from our rally in previous years. If possible, we should have at least as many people at the rally," urges the former MP.

The dismantling of the Tithe Church and the relevant court decision has already been announced by the Minister of Culture Olexandr Tkachenko.

As reported, according to the materials on the website of the Regional Administrative Court, Lutsenko is not a party to the lawsuit of the National Museum of the History of Ukraine. However, the former deputy has been fighting for the demolition of the Tithe Church for a long time now, first by organizing debates in the Parliamentary Committee, then by cutting off the locks on the church stands with a bolt cutter.
