Omar Epps leads action-drama inspired by the life of the fourth-century saint.

DENVER — Fathom Entertainment has announced that "Moses the Black," starring Omar Epps as a Chicago gang leader, will debut in theaters on Jan. 30, 2026.

The film is directed by Yelena Popovic (Man of God) and reimagines the story of fourth-century monk and saint Moses the Black, a former violent gang leader who underwent a dramatic conversion. Epps plays Malik, a modern Chicago gangster, and also serves as executive producer alongside Wiz Khalifa, Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson, and others.

Wiz Khalifa appears in the film as 2wo-3ree, the head of Malik’s young crew, while Quavo portrays Straw, the leader of a rival gang. Chukwudi Iwuji stars as St. Moses the Black.

“This film is about redemption and real change,” said 50 Cent. “It’s raw, it’s emotional, and it’s powerful. I can’t wait for audiences to see it.”

Fathom Entertainment CEO Ray Nutt called the project “an action-packed drama” and a “heart-pounding story” made for the big screen.

Tickets will be available starting December 19, with fans able to sign up for updates on Fathom’s website. The film is produced by Alexandros Potter and Yelena Popovic for Simeon Entertainment.
