From February 1 to February 3, 2023, the suburbs of Milan hosted a meeting of the Western European clergy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, reports the UOC Department for External Church Relations.

The meeting was chaired by the head of the foreign parishes of the UOC, Bishop Benjamin of Boyarka. Archpriest Mykola Danilevich, the deputy head of the DECR, was also present at the event.

"The meeting was attended by more than 30 clergymen of the UOC, who perform their ministry in Belgium, Denmark, France, Great Britain, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Germany, Portugal and Switzerland," the DECR noted.

The participants of the meeting discussed the development of educational, spiritual and family projects in their communities.

Bishop Benjamin handed the clergy a letter from His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry.

In his letter, the Primate of the UOC stressed that at a time when churches are being seized within the country, the opening of new communities abroad is particularly important:

"A Christian is called to create, not to destroy; to build, not to seize what was built by others' work; to call into the temple, not to drive out of it."

As reported, UOC parishes in Europe held charity concerts in support of Ukraine.
