On April 10, 2023, in Chernivtsi, an unknown attacker beat Bishop Nikita of Ivano-Frankivsk and Kolomyia and a minor who was nearby, whose father and brother are fighting on the front line in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of the Chernivtsi-Bukovyna diocese of the UOC.

The attack on the bishop took place at about 22:00 near the Chernivtsi diocesan administration of the UOC.

The police, who were called to the scene, did not apprehend the attacker and despite the requests of witnesses, did not examine him for alcohol or drug intoxication.
