The community of the St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and the faithful of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church are tested for their faithfulness to the holy Orthodoxy as do all the Ukrainian people, stated Metropolitan Theodore of Kamyanets-Podilskyi and Horodok.
According to him, many mass media deliberately serve distorted information about the UOC in order to provoke conflict and sow enmity between people.
Metropolitan Theodore also thanked the UOC believers for their faithfulness to Orthodoxy and the selfless feat of standing in the faith of our pious ancestors.
"Unfortunately, in the secular present, not everyone is able to appreciate the role of the UOC. The result is slander, neglect and aggression on the part of radicals, most of whom were baptized in our Orthodox Church. <...> This clearly manifested in our city in an attempt to raid the St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral under the pretext of its transfer to the OCU,” said the bishop.
According to the UOJ, Metropolitan Theodore contacted the police over the alleged seizure of the Cathedral.
