Unidentified people kidnapped the Orthodox human rights activist Viktoria Kokhanovska, who defended the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra from the first days of prayerful standing. Footage of Kokhanovska being pushed into a car by unknown men was broadcast live on her Facebook page.
According to UOJ sources in the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, Kokhanovska could have been kidnapped by police officers. The reason for the kidnapping was the current situation with the broken doors of the Lavra’s building 39, which were sealed in the morning by representatives of the National Reserve.
In the video, Kokhanovska screams at the moment of the abduction, then falls silent. On the ongoing recording, one of the kidnappers says, “She (Kokhanovska – Ed.) began fighting back, so I pulled her. She pretends to have fainted away there. I pushed her into the f*cking car, and we’re on our way.”
Screenshots from the car in which the kidnappers were.
Later, the entry “Our police protects us, Pasha and I were detained” appeared on Kokhanovska’s FB, but people in the comments do not believe this entry but tend to think that the abductors could have published it.
As reported by the UOJ, the police opened a case against the defenders of the Lavra under the article "hooliganism".
