The brethren of the Kyiv-Caves, Pochayiv and Sviatogorsk Lavras of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church sang the famous song "Faith Eternal, Glorious Faith!" so that Orthodox Ukrainians could again feel their unity on the Day of Christianization of Kievan Rus.
With the blessing of the UOC Chancellor, Metropolitan Anthony (Pakanich) of Boryspil and Brovary, the project was prepared by the informational and educational channel "1Kozak".
“The song that unites millions of Orthodox Slavs around the world is performed by the choirs of three great monasteries, which embrace the West, Center and East of Ukraine in Christ and in the bosom of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church,” says the project description, published on the First Cossack YouTube channel on the Day of the Baptism of Rus, July 28. “The faith and prayer of the monks of our holy Lavras brings Ukrainians together in spite of all our differences, keeps us and our country united no matter how hard we are put under pressure.”
This year, the authors noted, the believers of the UOC could not gather for the traditional All-Ukrainian Cross Procession in Kyiv, which is held annually on the Feast of the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Vladimir and the Day of the Baptism of Rus, “but the brethren of the Kyiv-Pechersk, Pochayiv and Sviatogorsk Lavras, together with our channel, made it so that on this day we could all feel our unity again.”
"The song ‘Faith is Eternal, Faith is Glorious!’ is familiar to everyone. Watch and sing along, dear brothers and sisters! Happy Baptism of Rus, successors of Orthodox Rus!” called the creators of the project.
As the UOJ reported, the hierarchs of the Local Churches congratulated the Ukrainian Orthodox Church on the Day of the Baptism of Rus.
