Woman commits act of self-immolation near Catholic Church in Zaporizhzhia

On August 4, 2020, at about 4 a.m., the National Police received a report that in the center of Zaporizhzhia, in a park near the Roman Catholic Church Sanctuary of the Merciful Father, a woman poured flammable liquid over herself and set herself on fire, reports "Gazeta.ua".

The press secretary of the regional department of the National Police Elena Lebedinskaya said that the emergency happened on July 4, at 04:05 am.

At the moment, the police are finding out the identity of the woman and all the circumstances of the incident.

The Cathedral of God the Merciful Father is a Roman Catholic temple of Zaporizhzhia, the co-cathedral of the Kharkiv-Zaporizhzhia Diocese.
