A cross procession of many thousands leaves Kamyanets-Podilsky for Pochayiv

On August 19, 2020, a traditional procession of thousands of the faithful started from the Kamyanets-Podilsky Cathedral to prayerfully walk to the Holy Dormition Pochayiv Lavra. This was reported by the online edition Vdalo.info.
The pilgrims are going to cover 210 km in seven days; therefore they plan to walk 30 km a day.
The believers intend to avoid settlements and spend nights in tents, which they took along with their karemats.
In the suburbs of Kamyanets-Podilsky and in the village of Dovzhok, new pilgrims joined the participants in the prayer procession.
Believers recalled that the tradition of organizing a cross procession from Kamyanets-Podilsky to Pochayiv on the eve of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos is over 200 years.
On August 19, a religious procession to the Pochayiv Lavra also started from the the Holy Trinity Brailov Monastery in Vinnytsia Eparchy. 2000 parishioners of the UOC are walking to the Lavra and plan to cover 275 km in seven days.
