On July 9, 2023, Zelensky said that his prayer with Duda in the Catholic church of Lutsk was timed to coincide with the anniversary of the Volyn massacre.

In his Telegram channel, Zelensky wrote in Ukrainian and Polish: “Together we honor all the innocent victims of Volyn! Memory unites us! Together we are stronger!

Recall that on July 11, Poland will celebrate the National Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Genocide of the Citizens of the Republic of Poland, committed by Ukrainian nationalists, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Volyn massacre, in which members of the OUN-UPA destroyed several tens of thousands of the civilian Polish population of Volyn. In response, Poland's Armia Krajowa killed up to 3 thousand Ukrainians.

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that Zelensky prayed with Duda in a Catholic church in Lutsk.
