Tkachenko reports on "de-occupation" of Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra

On 26 July 2023, the head of the Ministry of Culture Oleksandr Tkachenko reported at a meeting of the VR Committee on Humanitarian Policy on the work done by the Ministry from 2020 to 2023, reports the press service of the Ministry of Сulture.
In his report, Tkachenko told about the "de-occupation" by the Ministry of Culture of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.
According to him, being the head of the Ministry of Culture, he led the process of returning the property of the monastery to the state.
Tkachenko also recalled that during his leadership of the ministry, the agreement on the use of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra by the UOC was cancelled.
In addition, Tkachenko highlighted his other achievements on the "de-occupation" of the Lavra, among them:
- from March to June 2023, an inventory of the Lavra was carried out, 79 objects of the Lower Lavra were returned to the balance of the Reserve, work and visitor access to the Great Lavra Bell Tower was resumed;
- work on the digitisation of the Lavra was started;
- the procedure for granting access to the Assumption Cathedral and the Refectory Church for the funeral services over the fallen defenders of Ukraine was developed and approved;
- the development of the strategic vision of Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra 2023-2051 "New Formation of Ukrainianness" was started;
- the programme "Spiritual Restoration in the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra", operating under the National Reserve, was launched.
As reported, the head of the Culture Ministry Tkachenko submitted his resignation.
