Former Minister of Culture and Information Policy Oleksandr Tkachenko said that in his opinion, the law banning the UOC would be adopted by the Verkhovna Rada, BBC reports.
“The law is not about the UOC-MP, as it is called by the people, the law is on the prohibition of the activities of religious organizations with a center located in the aggressor country. Although it has a framework character, it should in many ways facilitate the finalization of the process of assuming the management of the Kyiv-Pechersk, Pochaiv and Sviatogorsk Lavras by the state,” Tkachenko said.
As the UOJ reported, in the same interview, the former Minister of Culture stated that during a meeting with Metropolitan Onuphry, he urged him to start concelebrating with the OCU but was refused.
