On September 10, 2023, a cluster shell landed on the territory of the Holy Spirit Cathedral of the UOC in Kherson, resulting in damage to the facade and the central entrance of the church, reported the press service of the Kherson Eparchy.

They explained that the shelling occurred in the morning, just before the start of the Sunday Divine Liturgy.

In addition to the facade, several utility rooms of the cathedral were also damaged.

The Eparchy noted that the munition that landed on the cathedral's territory did not explode, and there were no casualties as a result of the shelling.

As previously reported, St Catherine’s Cathedral in Kherson also came under fire.
