On 6 September 2023, representatives of the OCU beat a wounded soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and believers of the St. Nicholas Church of the UOC, as reported on the Telegram channel dozor-kozak1.
A group of raiders led by two clerics of the OCU entered the temple during a church service. After waiting for the rector of the temple to come out to give communion to the faithful, the raiders rushed to the altar.
The believers did not let the raiders into the altar, and the OCU supporters called for help. A bus arrived at the church with activists who began literally throwing parishioners out of the temple.
It came to the point that the OCU representatives even hit a wounded AFU soldier praying at the service and also attacked the priest and the sexton whose son is defending Ukraine at the front.
In addition, they attacked a parishioner of the UOC whose son died at the front defending Ukraine.
The police arrived on the spot and tried to prevent fights in the temple, but the raiders still committed provocation and started throwing out the worshippers.
As reported, OCU activists staged a planned provocation in the St. Nicholas Church, which led to the church being sealed.
