UOC Сhancellor bids farewell to Patriarch Irinej in Belgrade

On November 22, with the blessing of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine, the UOC Chancellor, Metropolitan Anthony (Pakanich) of Boryspil and Brovary, arrived in the capital of Serbia, Belgrade, to take part in the funeral services for the newly reposed Patriarch of Serbia Irinej.
The service was led by Metropolitan Hrizostom of Dabar-Bosnia, concelebrated by the hierarchs and clergy of the Serbian and other Orthodox Churches, says the message of the UOC Synodal Information and Educational Department.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, the Serb member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Milorad Dodik and other government officials prayed at the service.
The body of Patriarch Irinej was buried in the crypt of the Church of St. Sava.
As reported, the head of the UOC announced a congregational prayer at the Liturgy on Sunday for the newly reposed Patriarch Irene and called on the faithful to join it.
