Lawyers: When Lavra falls, the seizure of other churches will begin in Kyiv

Seizures of UOC churches in Kyiv are postponed due to the fact that the raiders are unable to break the resistance of the defenders of the main Orthodox shrine – the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. Lawyers representing the interests of UOC communities shared this information during a meeting of the Obukhiv vicariate clergy of the Kyiv Eparchy, reports dialogtut.org.

"There was information that a large amount of money went to a group of legal companies responsible for raiding," the lawyers said. “Initially, it was believed this was for the remaining Kyiv churches, but it turned out to be for the Lavra. It was going to be "taken in three days". And they hardly expected the budget for more than 7 months of active confrontation. This is important to know in order to get oriented and understand: as long as the Lavra stands, the seizure of the rest of the Kyiv monasteries and churches is postponed. As soon as the defenders give in, the raiders will take the next steps within a matter of days."

As previously reported, lawyers representing UOC communities informed the Obukhov vicariate clergy that during the "transitions" to the OCU all issues on behalf of the Dumenko structure are handled by "the one and the same famous group of legal companies" with a very large budget.

Earlier, the monks of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra and active laypeople called on Orthodox believers to come to daily prayer vigils at the shrine.
